Unofficial Galaxy S6 Oreo

If Samsung and its carrier partners fail to roll out Android Oreo to the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, and Galaxy S6 Active, Galaxy S6 users will still be able to get most of what Android Oreo has to offer. That's the beauty of Android.

The devices are getting old, but the Galaxy S6 development community is still very active and developers continue to roll out ROMs.

There are already Galaxy S6 Android Oreo ROMs out there right now and developers continue to tweak them with bug fixes, improvements, and additional features.

It'll take some work to manually install Android Oreo on your Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, or Galaxy S6 Active, but that's the route you'll have to take if Samsung declines to offer an official version.

As of right now, it looks like the Galaxy S6 will officially stay put on Android Nougat.
