Bug Fixes & Enhancements

Many Samsung Galaxy S6 users continue to struggle on Android 7.0 Nougat. Samsung and its carrier partners rolled out bug fixes and enhancements, but these updates have become less frequent as the devices have aged.

An upgrade to Android Oreo won't fix every single Nougat problem plaguing the Galaxy S6, but we'd expect a Galaxy S6 Oreo update to come with a nice set of bug fixes and enhancements.

The Galaxy S8 Android Oreo update's ironed out several bugs and performance issues. It's not perfect, but some Galaxy S8 users have noticed a boost to their devices performance.

Major Android upgrades like Android Oreo have been known to remedy frustrating performance issues. Issues like severe battery drain, broken Bluetooth connectivity, busted GPS connectivity, user interface lag, random reboots, and random freezes.

Carriers also typically tack on their own set of improvements so we could see carriers like AT&T and Verizon provide some additional enhancements to Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge users should they decide to offer an Android Oreo update to their customers.

If you're struggling on Nougat, keep your eyes out for Android Oreo news.
