Release Date & Price

Here is where things aren't as clear. We know almost everything thanks to a slew of leaks and information, but the release date is still somewhat of a mystery.

The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S7 were announced in February and released in March. That will NOT happen this year. Thanks to the recall on the Galaxy Note 7, the company is taking more time to make sure these phones pass all tests, won't have faulty batteries, and be the best phone they can be.

As a result we're hearing the Galaxy S8 and bigger Galaxy S8 Plus will be unveiled on March 29th, over a month later than prior years. Then released around April 19-21st. Meaning the release date is over a month alter than usual too. That's unfortunate for the millions waiting for it to arrive, but it should be well worth the wait.

That said, all the upgrades inside mean these should be pretty expensive phones. One leak claims the Galaxy S8 could be $849. We'll have to wait and see though, as pricing is different for each region. Not to mention Samsung may give discounts to those who bought the Note 7 and had to return it.

Either way, come sometime in April buyers will be able to get the Galaxy S8 on a monthly payment plan, trade in the Galaxy S6, and enjoy the newest phone from Samsung Mobile. It will be a worthy update in almost every single aspect. Stay tuned and we'll update this as we learn more details.
