iOS 11.1 Features & Fixes: 6 Things You’ll Love & 2 You Might Not

Messages in iCloud

Messages in Cloud was stripped from the iOS 11 beta in early August and the feature still hasn't made its triumphant return. Apple could certainly tack it onto the final iOS 11.1 release, but we'd feel more confident if it appeared in the iOS 11.1 beta.

For those who don't remember, Messages in Cloud was included in iOS 11 beta up until the release of iOS 11.1 beta 5. The feature vanished in the fifth beta with Apple promising to deliver it in a future iOS 11 update.

The company hasn't given iOS users a specific timeline so it's unclear when it will be added back into the operating system.

Messages in iCloud will be a huge addition for a lot of people because it allows iMessages to be stored in the cloud.

Messages can take up a ton of room on internal storage so this will allow users to quickly, and easily, free up storage space. It also allows users to save messages that might get deleted otherwise.
