iOS 9 Problems

After the iPhone 6 iOS 9 update is confirmed, you might feel a strong temptation to download and install the update when it first lands for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. It's understandable given the upgrades that are coming with the software. That said, you should expect there to be iOS 9 problems.

Expect there to be iOS 9 download and installation problems. Apple's servers will get slammed with requests right when the iOS 9 update is released. And while the company has worked to improve things, long download times and iTunes errors are common.

If you don't want to deal with these initial hiccups, expect to have to download the update during non-peak hours. We expect there to be fewer installation problems this year though.

Typically, we see tons of 16GB users run into issues when trying to install an update through settings. In the past, Apple's iOS updates have required a sizable chunk to download Over-the-Air and install.

This year, Apple's managed to slim down the required free space to less than 2GB. That's a huge change from previous iOS updates and 16GB iPhone, iPad and iPod touch owners should benefit the most from the big change.

We expect iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus iOS 9 problems to extend beyond installation issues. We expect there to be battery drain problems, issues with connectivity, problems with apps, and more. These issues are common, especially after huge system upgrades.

Fortunately, we expect there to be some viable fixes for many of these iOS 9 problems. Our list of fixes should be a great resource so keep it handy when the time comes.
