Speaking of the display, that's one of the most important and biggest upgrades on the Pixel 4, and a big reason why a ton of people will want to buy it. While Pixel 3, 3XL, 4, and 4 XL are all nearly the same size, there are two differences this year.
- Pixel 3: 5.5-inch 1080p HD display
- Pixel 3 XL: 6.3-inch 2960 x 1440 Quad-HD display
- Pixel 4: 5.7-inch 1080p HD 90 Hz display
- Pixel 4 XL: 6.3-inch 3040 x 1440 Quad-HD 90 Hz display
Above you can see that this year the smaller Pixel 4 is a little bigger than last years Pixel 3, coming in at 5.7-inches. The bigger XL model is the same size from last year to the current model.
However, both phones now have an all-new 90Hz refresh rate, which is a big deal. This allows the screen to refresh much faster than traditional 60 Hz displays. This makes things fast, fluid, and more responsive -- and you'll be able to notice it. The other small difference, besides from the lack of a notch in the screen, is that the new Pixel 4 XL has a slightly higher resolution than the Pixel 3 XL, but only by a small margin you'll never be able to see. Basically, they're pretty much the same size but the new Pixels have some of the best AMOLED displays in any phone.
