Release Date & Price

Release Date & Price

Obviously, these phones will get released at the same time, so the release date won't matter to potential buyers trying to choose one over the other. What will matter though is the price tag.

The Pixel 3 didn't do so well, which is why Google released a more affordable Pixel 3a which we heard a lot of people bought, and enjoy. That gave us hope that Google would keep prices down, and ya know, they kinda did. Considering all the upgrades, bigger screen and 90 Hz display these phones cost the same as last year.

Pixel 4 and 4 XL Pricing

  • Pixel 4 - $799 (64GB)
  • Pixel 4 XL - $899 (64GB)

While those prices certainly aren't cheap, they are lower than most of the competition, which makes sense given the feature-set. They should be priced lower. They have smaller screens, smaller battery cells, less RAM and not nearly as much storage. If Google tries to ask $999 for a phone that isn't on par as the Galaxy S10+, people aren't going to buy it.

The Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL were announced on October 15th and hit carrier and retail shelves starting October 22nd. If you're interested, here are all the best Pixel 4 deals

It most likely will, just like all the other high-end new phones.

At 8 GB for the XL, of pre-order! At 6gb, wait for the sale – no use spending for meh specs.

2GB of RAM more will make zero difference. My Note 9 still hasn’t used more than 4GB and it has a lot more than that.

Well, something is wrong with Google’s memory management. Even after all the attempts to fix it.

Yeah I don’t know what you ram fanbois are doing with your phones but as a power user.. I’ve never once maxed my Pixel 3 to the point where it was lagging and I wished for more ram.. sounds to me like you’re falling into the marketing trap, and OEMs are not going to complain about that

I’m still packing the OG Pixel XL. Waiting for the 4XL. Great phone, superb customer service. I had one issue and had a chat with a Google rep, who walked me thru the fix. Great camera too, especially the incredible ‘night sight’.
