Don't Buy a PS4 if You Want a 4K Blu-Ray Player

One of the downsides to buying a PS4 is that it doesn't come with a 4K Blu-Ray player. Both the Xbox One S and Xbox One X come with a 4K Blu-Ray player that allows you to watch higher resolution 4K Blu-Ray disks that you cannot watch on the PS4 or PS4 Pro. 

PlayStation only offers a Blu-Ray player for the disk, but if you buy the PS4 Pro you can stream in 4K with Netflix, Amazon and YouTube. This ultimately comes down to how you buy your movies and how you plan to watch them. 

I bought several 4K Blu-Ray movies to watch on my Xbox One X because it was better than renting them through Microsoft or buying them through a streaming service. Most 4K Blu-Ray discs come with a 4K Blu-Ray, a standard Blu-Ray and a digital download code, so you have flexibility on where you watch as well.  

If your game console is going to be at the center of your home theater, consider the advantage of buying one with a 4K Blu-Ray player.
