The Oculus Quest isn't cheap. For the same price, you can buy an Xbox One X or a PS4 Pro, which is a reason to take a look at the games you want to play and how much you want to invest in a game system. 

The Xbox One S and PS4 are even cheaper around $199 on sale. While you need to factor in a TV, most people already own one that they can game on. 

If you are strapped for cash and want the biggest library of games, look at the Xbox One, PS4, or Nintendo Switch. 

If you want a cheaper VR option, you can look at the Oculus Go, but you only get three degrees of freedom, not six, which limits your overall movement.
