We're hearing rumors about Apple adding Touch ID to the Apple Watch in the future. 

One method would be to put a fingerprint reader on the Digital Crown, but another option could be to put the sensor under the screen. 

Adding either of these options would allow you to unlock your Apple Watch without entering your PIN. That's handy, even with knowing that you can unlock the Apple Watch by unlocking your phone. 

Both iupdate and The Verifier are reporting that Apple is planning this feature for the Apple Watch 7. If you want this feature, you will need to wait until at least the 2021 Apple Watch release.
