We should start to learn some important information about screen sizes, camera quality, and if OnePlus will finally come around on features like IP68 water-resistance or even wireless charging. Both of those last things the competition offers, but OnePlus doesn't. Yes, they have a few reasons for not offering it, but we're hoping this year they finally do. 

And, if you need more storage from your smartphone you'll want the 8T. The OnePlus 7 Pro comes in several different storage amounts, but almost every brand is starting off with at least 128GB these days. 64GB of storage just isn't enough, and we think they'll finally double the storage with the OnePlus 8T at the same price as before. 

If you aren't thrilled with the devices on shelves right now, and you aren't in desperate need of a new smartphone, there's no reason to force something.

And if the OnePlus 8 and Galaxy S20 that are about to dominate headlines aren't exciting enough either, waiting until this fall isn't a bad idea.
