Wait For Face Unlock and Motion Sense
Several years ago Google's Advanced Technology and Projects team (ATAP) gave the world a small preview of Soli, a motion-sensing radar technology. Basically, shrinking the powerful radar system used all over the world into a tiny sensor that'll fit in smartphones and watches.
Now, with the Pixel 4 series, it's finally ready to show the world how it works. In the video here you'll get a small preview of what "Motion Sense" will offer on the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL. This is just one of several powerful new Pixel 4 features we think will be worth waiting for. And while "hands-free" gestures for controls have been very gimmicky and seen in other devices, this will be completely different. This isn't the same gesture motions we've seen from Samsung or LG, but a ground-breaking new technology from Google.
Soli, known as Motion Sense, will also know when you're about to pick up your phone and turn on the face unlock sensors before you even grab it. That way unlocking your phone, controlling it, and using it day in and day out will be easier than ever before, and faster.
