Research Carriers & Data Plans

With the Galaxy S9 release date as close as it is, now would be a great time to getting familiar with your account, your data needs, and your local carriers.

Checking your upgrade status will take a matter of minutes. You can login into your account at your carrier and check your status there.

You can also call your carrier's customer service line and check your status that way. It might be comforting to hear it from a real person.

If you plan on ordering the Galaxy S9 right when it goes on sale, make sure you've got all of your info ready. That includes any logins you might need for a carrier website, a social security number, and your current billing address. Some carriers might require you to ship the device to the primary billing address

If you aren't the primary account holder, you'll need to track that information down ahead of time.

You'll also want to check your current data plan to see if you need to make any adjustments to your current bucket of data. If you really dig into your current usage you might be able to save some money. Don't be afraid to go into a store and ask questions.

You might also start researching other carriers if you think you might get a better deal or better service from someone else.

Please don't leave this to the night before you buy a new phone.
