Go Hands-on With the Galaxy S8, Galaxy S7, & Note 8

Now would be a great time to get familiar with the Galaxy S9's in-house competition which includes the Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+, Galaxy S8 Active, Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge, and various mid-range models like the Galaxy J series.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ recently got upgraded to Android Oreo. The Galaxy S8 Oreo update delivers new features, enhancements, fixes, and patches. It also includes Samsung's new Experience 9.0 user interface.

The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are also much cheaper than they once were. Galaxy S8 deals are available and you don't have to look hard to save some cash on the soon-to-be former flagships.

The Galaxy Note 8 is also an option if you want a large screen, tons of horsepower, and access to some additional software features via the device's S Pen stylus. Make sure you rule out the Galaxy Note series before you go with a Galaxy S.

Samsung's Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge are getting older, but they're still capable. They're also extremely cheap.

Both devices will, at some point, get upgraded to Android 8.0 Oreo and it looks like the update could include Bixby Home.

The Galaxy S9 is the shiny new product, but these devices could satisfy your needs without breaking the bank. Go hands-on with them before you commit to the Galaxy S9.
