Star Wars Battlefront Sales

There have been loads of complaints about this game but that hasn't stopped it from flying off shelves ahead of Christmas.

The game reportedly sold close to five million copies in the first week. The stats cover every day through November 21st. Which means that they don't account for Black Friday sales or December sales.

EA recently said that it expects to ship 13 million copies of the game during its fiscal year. The arrival of Star Wars Force Awakens in December should only help the company reach that goal. Star Wars fever has only just begun.

@adam mills This isn’t a response to people complaining about a progression system, progression systems don’t give games depth, movement, gunplay, vehicle handling and balance, these are things that can be a deep or shallow experience and they are extremely shallow by any means. it doesn’t matter how much you can “unlock” or “progress” a shallow game is shallow.

this irks me because I am tired of developers throwing ridiculous amounts of gimmicks and gadgets into games that really upset balance and depth. all players should be on a relatively even playing field with satisfying movement and gun feel, that way the best will always conquer, not some noob hiding away in the corner of a map with thermal optics and a homing missile

To be honest, I’m okay without a progression system. Team Fortress did just fine without it. I’m okay with the standalone shooter play. I feel like the addition of the Star Cards, skins, traits, and weapons (some say no distinction…I say let me shoot you in the face with a DL-44 and you be the judge) were just fine. What is causing me the most grief is that after a very short amount of time and a free DLC — we’re seeing PC die quickly. Games are hard to find and the forums (https://starwars.ea.com/starwars/battlefront/forums/categories/star-wars-battlefront-pc) are blowing up about it with no response.

The game is gorgeous and immersion is very easily met. I’d like to NOT see this go poorly. I really do enjoy it. :)
