Amazon Black Friday 2015 Deal: $150 50-inch HDTV Only In App
One of the biggest Amazon Black Friday 2015 deals is only available in the Amazon app for iPhone, iPad or Android. That’s right — if you want to buy a 50-inch HDTV for $150 on Amazon you will need to download and install the Amazon app to make sure you have access.
All we know about this 50-inch HDTV Black Friday 2015 deal is that it will be a limited quantity item on Thanksgiving Day and it will only be available to purchase within the app on your smartphone.
Update: At 3PM on Thanksgiving a new Amazon Black Friday 2015 App Only deal will appear for a 55-inch 4K TV at $448.
Over the weekend the Amazon Black Friday 2015 ads appeared on TV to announce the kickoff of Black Friday week at the retailer, and this deal is sure to be one of the most talked about options.
This is an insane deal, even if it is an older model with a lower refresh rate and limited ports. We don’t know what brand this will be, but it looks like it will be the cheapest Black Friday HDTV 2015 deal on a 50-inch model.
Like many of the Amazon Black Friday 2015 deals this will go fast and it will likely be a lightning deal. Amazon Prime members may get early access to this deal, but we don’t know for sure yet.
To prepare for this, you need to download the Amazon iPhone app or Amazon Android app for access to this deal.
After you download it, make sure you sign in to the app and make sure you are able to add items to your cart. This will simplify the process when the sale starts.
The 50-inch Amazon Black Friday 2015 deal will start on November 26th, but it isn’t clear what time this will kick off.
Keep in mind that the Amazon Black Friday 2015 ad isn’t the only one with big savings on HDTVs. The Best Buy Black Friday 2015 ad includes a 49-inch HDTV from Toshiba for $149. If you can get either of these deals, you can expect to save significantly.
Count on a 1080P resolution, a refresh rate of 60Hz and 2 or 3 HDMI ports. Like most HDTVs this should be wall mount compatible, but it may not include options for connecting a PC with a VGA cable.
There are many Amazon Black Friday 2015 deals live now, but the biggest savings will start on Thanksgiving Day. My Best Buy Elite and Elite Plus members can already shop many Best Buy Black Friday 2015 deals online today, but this 50-inch HDTV is not included.
Check out the Black Friday 2015 ads below and roundups for more on how you can save this week.

Do you know if the Best Buy 49″ deal will be available online, and if not, when do you recommend getting to the physical store to secure one?

I don’t see the 50″ in the “App only” option on Amazon only the 55″.

It doesn’t seem as if they’ve listed it yet I think you literally just have to keep checking inside the app

The tv will be listed at 3PM Thanksgiving Day 2015. I saw some horrible reviews for Element models, but as long as it’s anything else, I’m buying it. This is the same price as the Wal Mart 40″ model which is considerably smaller, that you have to go stand in line for and pay tax on.

3PM EST? Where’d you hear this, just out of curiosity? I’d prefer to not have to spend my Thanksgiving checking the Amazon app every 5 minutes waiting for this deal. Have a set time would really alleviate that frustration.

I read multiple sources saying 3PM but don’t know the time zone. I think part of it is that Amazon wants you to keep checking all day so you see all the other stuff they are trying to sell you. There are too many sale items for me to even see where it will be. Will it be a “Lightning Deal”? Will it automatically pop up on the app when available? Or will you have to scroll through hundreds of other sale items looking for it? Never used the app before. It did offer me $5 off my first purchase which is nice.
Not sure if I can post links but here’s red dit.

NOTE: The instructions above show how to find the TV. I did go to the “App-Only Deals” from the app, and it shows 23 deals today, including a 55″ 4k Hisense for $448 at 5PM, but nothing about the 40″ WTF! Multiple media sources reported it was happening today.

USA Today says 3:00 but you must assume that is eastern time. https://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/2015/11/24/some-hot-black-friday-deals-mobile-only/76297886/

Does this mean that since my phone is a Windows Phone, I’m excluded. I have had an Amazon app for two years and I’m a Prime member. Help me!
Disappointed

Just got off the phone with Amazon and the TV goes on sale at 5pm EST. Unfortunately it will only be available to those using Amazon mobile devices like the fire phone who downloaded the app through the amazon app store. Android and apple users are out of luck.

I have no clue where to find this. Going to “Today’s Deals” from the app shows:
Deals of the Day (10 items–none are TV)
Lightning Deals (2,531 items)
Savings & Sales (3,701 items)
You can sort by “Electronics” only to narrow it down to a few hundred, but even then it feels like looking for a needle in a haystack.

Amazon phones exist? There has to be another way to access it, 99% of smart phone users have iPhones or Androids it seems. Any ideas?

Don’t believe that guy he wants you all to not go to the app, creating less competition

IMHO there is No 50″ TV going on sale. It’s only that 55″ one that’s listed. The 55″ is 6pm Eastern which is 5pm Central which is probably why the rep was saying 5pm.
Also to make matters worse, on the Reddit page about this deal someone said it was mentioned on Good Morning America. So….yea…..that’s just freaking great. The mobile app already died at 3pm and wouldn’t refresh for a short period. I can only imagine what’s going to happen at 6pm if indeed this mystical 50″ tv ever shows up… Good luck getting it.

I kept refreshing my iphone and that deal never showed up under any of the tabs. I am disappointed since the only reason I downloaded their difficult to use app was for a CHANCE at that TV. Even though BF is a huge marketing gimmick, I still expected better from Amazon.
