Apple Might Get Rid of the iPhone SE

Apple will make some big changes to its iPhone lineup this fall and it looks like the iPhone SE might be a part of those plans. Just not in the way we originally thought.

Some analysts believe Apple will discontinue two popular iPhone models. One is the original iPhone X, the flagship from 2017. The other? The iPhone SE.

According to analysts John Donovan and Steve Mullane with research firm BlueFin Research Partners, Apple will stop selling the iPhone SE this fall to make way for its new iPhone lineup.

If this happens, we'd expect the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus to serve as Apple's budget options.

If Apple does stop selling the iPhone SE, it won't disappear completely. It will likely sell refurbished models and we expect some retailers to continue to sell new iPhone SEs.

Keep an eye on the rumor mill as we push toward September.
