Don't Install If You Hate Dealing With Problems

If your Nexus device is your daily driver you might want to skip the Android 8.1 beta.

The early version of Android 8.1 has the potential to wreck havoc on your device's performance, your applications, and your services.

If you rely on your device and its various apps and services for school or your job, you should stay on Android 8.0 Oreo.

If you really want to try the beta we suggest finding another device capable of running the software. The Pixel C, Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2, and Pixel XL 2 are all eligible for the Android 8.1 Oreo beta.

We haven't noticed any major problems yet, but some beta testers are seeing UI lag, battery life issues, and problems with Bluetooth connectivity.

Google is keeping a running list of Android 8.1 issues and we expect the list to grow as more people install the software.

If you can't handle bugs, don't install Android 8.1 beta.
