If you want to play NBA 2K22 ASAP you'll want to pre-order the game. 

Unlike some previous years, there isn't an early release date attached to higher-end bundles. All NBA 2K22 editions will come out on the same day. That means your first chance to play the full version of NBA 2K22 will be September 10th or September 9th.

If you pre-order a digital copy of the game, you can pre-load it before the game's release date. The game should unlock at Midnight Eastern on September 10th which means those in western time zones will be able to play it the evening of September 9th. 

If you pre-order a physical copy of NBA 2K22 you won't get your delivery until the morning, afternoon, or night of September 10th unless you can find a midnight launch event. 

For some of you, that might not be fast enough. If it's not, go with a digital copy.
