16GB Isn't Enough Anymore

If you're dead set on buying the iPhone 5s, just make sure you avoid the 16GB model. Buying a cheap 16GB iPhone 5s might seem like the way to go, but you're better off spending the extra money for additional storage.

When Apple sold the iPhone 5 it sold it in 16, 32 and 64GB storage sizes. All three versions are still available through resellers.

Apple's software advancements have taken some of the pressure off the device's internal storage space, 16GB simply isn't going to be enough for most of you.

Apps, particularly games, take up huge chunks of storage these days. Messages you save to your phone can take up hundreds of megabytes or several GB if you keep them for longer than 30 days. Photos, videos, and music can and will take up a tons of storage as well.

Some of you will reach the 16GB threshold in a matter of hours or a matter of days.

There's a reason Apple killed off 16GB iPhones from its lineup. It's no longer enough storage for average smartphone users.

If you can, avoid the 16GB iPhone 5s. The 64GB model is your best option though we recommend the 64GB iPhone SE or 128GB iPhone SE if you can afford them.
