The iPhone 5s Won't Get Apple Pay Cash

The iPhone 5s recently got upgraded to iOS 11.1 and it will soon get a new milestone upgrade: iOS 11.2.

Apple's iOS 11.2 update is currently in beta ahead of an unknown release date. We thought it might land with the HomePod in December, but Apple's speaker's been pushed into 2018.

The iPhone 5s will get most of iOS 11.2's changes though one key feature will be missing. That feature? Apple Pay Cash.

If you're unfamiliar, Apple Pay Cash allows you to quickly and easily send and receive Apple Pay payments to and from your friends within the in-house Messages app. It's a nice alternative to other payment solutions like Venmo.

Sadly, the iPhone 5s isn't compatible. If you want to use Apple Pay Cash on an iPhone you need to be on the iPhone 6 or newer.
