T-Mobile offers a new plan for anyone over 55 that delivers two lines of unlimited connectivity for just $60 a month. The T-Mobile ONE Unlimited 55+ is available today and includes one line for $50 a month and the second line for $10 a month. This isn’t exactly a T-Mobile seniors plan since you don’t need to wait until you are 65.

This is an excellent option for anyone over 55 that wants a full smartphone plan. Whether it is a first smartphone or simply looking for a better deal without giving up data that lets you use Facebook, video call your kids and get navigation — this is a great new option. Starting August 9th, you can go into a T-Mobile store to get this new plan or you can call T-Mobile or go online.

This is an affordable way to move off of a shared line that you may be on and into your own plan. We’ve even rounded up the best smartphones for seniors and older users. Here’s a list of reasons to switch t0 T-Mobile, and the catches you need to be aware of.

“For years, the carriers have been patronizing the generation that invented wireless. They thank these mobile pioneers by selling dumbed down ‘senior’ plans with exactly zero data and — get this — night and weekend minutes! That’s not just idiotic — it’s insulting!” said T-Mobile CEO and President John Legere. “Today, the Un-carrier ends this ridiculousness with T-Mobile ONE Unlimited 55+ — an offer that recognizes how Boomers and beyond actually use their smartphones!”

The $60 a month price for two lines includes taxes and fees, so there is no added cost that will surprise you after a month of using T-Mobile. the only real catch is that you need to sign up for auto pay. Only the primary account holder needs to be over 55 to get on this plan. This plan only works with a maximum of two lines. You need to ask T-Mobile to switch you to this plan, as the company will not automatically enroll you in it.

This plan includes unlimited talk, text and data as well as other T-Mobile ONE benefits. This plan is not designed with flip phones in mind, it’s for the connected user who is over 55 and looking for an affordable way to get a smartphone plan that doesn’t limit what you can do. Here’s what else you get with this plan;

  • Simple Global: unlimited text and data roaming and low flat-rate calling in 140+ countries and destinations

iPhone 8 Plus

iPhone 8 Plus

The iPhone 8 Plus is one of the best smartphones for seniors because it is easy to use, it has an amazing screen and a ton of handy features that make it a great first smartphone.

The large 5.5-inch display is the same size as the iPhone 7 Plus, but it now features a True-Tone Display. That's a fancy way of saying the screen looks much better in all light conditions. We love this change and we think it's great for people who are going to use a phone indoors and out.

Apple makes the iPhone 8 Plus water resistant, so if you drop it into water for a short period it will be fine. You can also charge the iPhone wirelessly. If you hate fumbling with cords to charge up, this will be an awesome feature for you.

The Touch ID sensor lets you log into your iPhone without your passcode, and you can also use built in tools to remember all of your other passwords that you need. You can backup photos to iCloud and backup your iPhone to iCloud which means everything is safe if you break your phone, without the need to plug into a computer.

Inside the iPhone 8 Plus is an amazing camera that you can use to take pictures of grandkids, vacations and anything you enjoy without bringing a bigger camera with you.

The iPhone 8 Plus is available on all major carriers for as little as $23 a month or $699 outright at Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, AT&T and Best Buy. You can also find deals on certified refurbished iPhone 8 Plus models at Gazelle
