The upcoming Assassin’s Creed Origins December Update adds new content for gamers who finished the main story weeks ago and newcomers just getting their first taste of its ancient lands.
Ubisoft confirmed the Assassin’s Creed Origins December Update recently. If you’ve finished the game’s main story, this upgrade gives you a reason to go back again. It also introduces two new quests for you to complete and two new armor packages for you to buy from the in-game store.
Here’s everything that we know about the Assassin’s Creed Origins December Update release, including when its different parts launch, what’s coming to the in-game store and how it gives you an opportunity to play two deadly missions again for some amazing rewards.
Assassin’s Creed Origins December Update Release Date
Ubisoft confirmed the Assassin’s Creed Origins December Update release in a post on the Assassin’s Creed Blog. That being said, we don’t yet have an official Assassin’s Creed Origins December Update release date.
There is enough information to speculate on when it will launch. We know that the update will arrive sometime in December because of its name. That gives Ubisoft until the third week of December to deliver the upgrade. The studio doesn’t introduce major game updates over the weekend and a release after December 22nd would put the upgrade during the Christmas holidays, which never happens in the video game industry. Developers get their holiday updates out before the holiday. This way, they can fix problems before an avalanche of new players arrives.
Assassin’s Creed Origins December Update Price
All the modes and game upgrades added with the Assassin’s Creed Origins December Update are part of a title update. This means that the high-profile upgrades are free. As long as you have a copy of the game and reliable internet access, the upgrades are yours.
However, this does not mean that everything added during the month of December is free. Origins has in-game purchases and you must purchase the two item packs with in-game currency. If you have enough currency saved, you can buy them without spending any real money. If you’re low on in-game currency, you can add more to your wallet by spending real money in the game.
Assassin’s Creed Origins December Update Features
Despite being free, the Assassin’s Creed Origins December Update comes with a lot.
Even if you’ve finished the game already, the new Nightmare difficulty setting the update adds might lure you back in. With the mode on, every in-game enemy becomes more resistant to your weapons and more lethal.
With Nightmare Mode, Ubisoft is introducing enemy scaling. If you turn this feature on, enemies that would otherwise have a lower level than you match your level. This makes them more deadly and gets you more XP for killing them.
See how long you can last using the game’s battle mechanics in Horde Mode. This new feature throws waves of enemies at you to see how long you last. This mode is for anyone that is level 32 or higher, so finish the game’s story mode before attempting it. You get access to the mode through a new quest.
There’s a second new quest that the game updates adds, but Ubisoft is staying quiet about it for now.
Finally, Ubisoft is bringing back the first two Trials of the Gods events from November and introducing a third one for you to conquer. Trials of the Gods events award special gear for defeating figures from Egyptian mythology. This could be your last chance to claim these rewards for a long time. Sekhmet is this month’s Trials of the God warrior.
Assassin’s Creed Origins December Store Updates
Expect two new armor packs to arrive in the Assassin’s Creed Origins store: The Gladiators Items Pack and the Wacky Items Pack.
The Gladiators Pack unlocks Spanish armor, a shield, a sword, a heavy blade and a spear. Expect it to surface on December 12th.
The Whacky Items Pack won’t arrive until December 26th. It will unlock four weapons, a bath towel outfit and a single mount for you to ride into battle.
Expect to hear more about the Assassin’s Cred Origins December Update closer to its release. Also, remember to keep track of the Assassin’s Creed Origins Season Pass. Ubisoft is adding new features and things to do in the game every month.
