on

If you own a copy of Assassin’s Creed Origins, get ready for the next Assassin’s Creed Origins Trials of the Gods release. Expect some very important rewards when you complete one of these challenges.

Assassins Creed Origins Trials of the Gods are timed events. Like timed events for other games, they’re designed to create excitement for the game long after you’ve completed the title’s story. They’re essential to keeping the excitement for Origins high, too, since the game doesn’t have a dedicated multiplayer mode for players who have done everything else.

You definitely want to try to beat each Assassin’s Creed Origins Trials of the Gods event at least once. There’s legendary equipment waiting for your character if you do. That’s important because the gear system in Origins determines how powerful of an Assassin you really here.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Assassin’s Creed Origins Trials of the Gods release and what you can expect the next time one of the events surfaces in the game.

What are Assassin’s Creed Origins Trials of the Gods

In Trials of the Gods events, your Bayek character fights physical manifestations of Egyptian gods. Defeat these gods and you can claim their powerful armor for your Assassin. These gods appear in-game as they’re described in Egyptian texts. For example, Anubis, the Egyptian god of the afterlife, has the head of a Jackal.

You get seven days to complete an Assassin’s Creed Origins Trials of the Gods mission before Ubisoft removes it from the game. When it goes, the powerful rewards that it unlocks disappear too. Only the first completion gets you cool gear for your character. Expect character XP when you play the mission again and win the second time.

You Can Play Trials of the Gods Again, Someday

If you see news of a Trials of the Gods mission, it’s best to try it as soon as you can. These gods are powerful and it takes a lot of skill to beat them. You will die a lot.

That being said, Trials of the Gods missions that you miss or can’t finish will return at some point. Ubisoft says that older events will rotate back into the game in the future. This gives you a second chance to claim their rewards. Unfortunately, there’s no timetable for when existing mission will surface again. It could be another six months before you get another opportunity to claim some cool gear.

When is the Next Assassin’s Creed Origins Trials of the Gods Release?

There’s no public schedule for Assassin’s Creed Origins Trials of the Gods releases. Ubisoft announces the events just days before they start, so only its teams know when they are almost here. Only one event has taken place so far.

The next Assassin’s Creed Origins Trials of the Gods mission started on November 21st and lasts through November 28th. In this event, you will play as Sobek. Sobek has a crocodile’s head and a human body. He’s Egypt’s god of water and fertility, both of which are heavily associated with the Nile River that runs through Egypt in Assassin’s Creed Origins.

You will only get a notice to try this mission if you’ve already completed the Aya quest. It’s fairly early in the game, but not so early that anyone that just started Assassins’ Creed Origins can participate. In fact, Ubisoft is warning players who haven’t reached level 40 yet to consider staying away from this Trials of the Gods mission.

The first time you kill Sobek, you will get a single piece of the Anubis Gear Set. Finishing the mission again gets you more XP before your character and drachmas. Drachmas are the in-game currency you use to buy consumable items at the game’s shops.

Expect to hear more about new Assassin’s Creed Origins Trials of the Gods missions in December. That’s also when Ubisoft plans to release more new Assassin’s Creed Origins DLC.
