iPhone 6 Concept: Wrap-around Apple iPhone Patent

Apple doesn't show off their iPhone designs ahead of the actual announcement, but a new Apple patent discovered by Patently Apple shows us one -- direct from the labs of Apple -- look at what the iPhone 6 could do.

This iPhone patent shows an iPhone with a wrap around display that allows users to show video or photos on all sides of the iPhone. Users can use screens independently or to show a continuous photo or video.

This concept uses virtual controls for the volume and a multi-touch gesture for muting the phone. We've already seen curved displays shown off and rumors are they are coming in 2014 or soon after to consumer devices. The uptick of stronger glass would also enable this design.

This iPhone patent may not be the iPhone 6 Apple has in mind, but it illustrates the lengths Apple is going to, in order to imagine new form factors and new designs for the iPhone 6.
