If any phone can truly give the Galaxy Note 8 a run for its money, it's the new LG V30. Yes the screen is slightly smaller and there's no stylus, but it packs just about everything else anyone would ever want from a smartphone.
The LG V30 is just an excellent all-around device. It has a huge 6-inch edge-to-edge OLED display, dual cameras, water-resistance, wireless charging and much more. At first glance, it even looks like the Galaxy Note 8, only slightly smaller. In fact, it has smaller bezels around the display, making it easier to hold while still offering a gigantic 6-inch screen.
Our link above goes over everything you need to know about the V30, and compares it directly to the Galaxy Note 8. Just know it's big, fast, powerful, has two cameras (one wide-angle) and nearly everything else the Note 8 has to offer. Then additions like a software secondary floating screen for quick access to your favorite apps, a Quad DAC for excellent audiophile sound, a big battery, and what LG claims is the best smartphone cameras around. Although that's debatable.
The only potential downside is the screen isn't quite as good as the Note 8, and it's expensive. You'll only save $100 because the V30 is $840 at Verizon or a little less at other carriers. Or, we recommend getting the unlocked model for only $749.
