LG G6

Another great phone for potential Galaxy Note 8 buyers is the LG G6. The screen isn't quite as big, coming in at 5.7-inches, but it's still very similar. 

The LG G6 came out around the same time as Samsung's Galaxy S8 (so early 2017) and features a design that closely resembles the Note 8. You'll still get an edge-to-edge screen with rounded corners, it's just not quite as large. The phone is water-resistant, made of premium metal and glass materials, and even features wireless charging. Basically, everything that most users want from the Note 8. 

A few things to consider though is the LG G6 has a slightly older processor and only 4GB of RAM, instead of 6GB like the Note 8. You'll also have to deal with only 32GB of internal storage vs 64GB from Samsung. However, there's a micro-SD slot to expand storage. 

Last but not least, the LG G6 has a similar dual camera setup. Only instead of offering a 2x digital zoom, LG's secondary camera takes wide-angle photos. It's a different approach, but one that many still enjoy. LG is using two 13 Megapixel rear cameras on its phone.

The best part is you can almost buy two LG G6 phones for the price of the Note 8. It's only $550 at T-Mobile and a few dollars more from other carriers. After tax, you're saving around 50% vs getting Samsung's new phablet.
