Can't Update or Play Clash Royale

The biggest Clash Royale problem we're seeing lately is the game no longer works on some Android or Apple smartphones or tablets. This is a known issue, with NO fix.

If you tried to update Clash Royale and now you can't play the game, you're not alone. Supercell confirmed that certain Android and iOS versions will no longer be supported. If you just returned to the game after a long break and can't install it, now you know why. Older devices are no longer supported. This change happened back in 2018 and I'm assuming by now that you upgraded to a new phone.

Basically, if you have an Android phone or tablet running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich or older, you can't play Clash Royale anymore. And, if you have an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch on iOS 8, you can't play Clash Royale either. The company suggests updating to newer software or buying a new phone. We also recommend you get with the times, it is 2020 after all, and get a new phone like the Galaxy S20

This is out of Supercell's control. If your phone or tablet is too old, the game and operating system simply can't support newer games. You're out of luck.

And if you don't see the update in the app store, just swipe down from the top of the screen on iPhone or Android to refresh the app store.
