Clipboards and toy cars aren't the most exciting loot in Fallout 4 but they have their value. In fact, just about everything in Fallout 4 has value so make sure you loot as much as you possibly can. There's no reason to leave anything behind, unless you're running out of space. 

All of this junk can be used to improve armor, weapons and settlements. Improving your weapons and armor is vital to your success and thriving settlements will offer some bonuses and a sense of pride. 

It was easy to neglect some loot in Fallout 3. Don't neglect anything in Fallout 4. Everything has a purpose and it's always good to have a surplus of items on hand, especially late in the game when you're managing a ton of settlements.
