Fallout 4 Bundles: 5 Things to Know Right Now

The Fallout 4 release continues to get closer and we continue to see new details emerge. The most recent details include several new bundles that buyers need to be aware of before the game’s release date. Today, we take a look at everything Fallout 4 buyers need to know about bundles.

In early June, Bethesda released a teaser trailer for Fallout 4, a follow-up to the company’s Fallout 3 from 2008. The trailer didn’t reveal much and served as the appetizer to the main course that Bethesda provided during its showcase at E3 2015 in Los Angeles.

There, Todd Howard showed off what the company has been working on for a number of years. Those who tuned in were treated to a rundown of the most important Fallout 4 details including information about combat, crafting, the plot, character creation, the Fallout 4 release date, and more.

Bethesda showed off a lot that day but it didn’t show off everything and we continue to see new and important Fallout 4 release details emerge ahead of the game’s November 10th release for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

The most recent Fallout 4 release details have been focused on several Fallout bundles that will likely be tempting to those of you that want more than just the Fallout 4 game later this year. These bundles include figurines, a lunchbox, and even a copy of Fallout 3.

With Fallout 4 bundle details swirling, we want to take a look at the current state of Fallout bundles. Keep all of this in mind as we push deeper into the summer towards the Fallout 4 release date.

Fallout 4 w/ Fallout 3 Bundle

Microsoft is offering an exclusive Fallout 4 bundle to Xbox One owners. Those who pre-order the game in time will get a copy of Fallout 3 for Xbox 360.

While Fallout 3 is an Xbox 360 game, it will be playable on the Xbox One thanks to Microsoft’s new backwards compatibility feature. It’s not clear when the game will become available for the Xbox One and Bethesda’s Pete Hines says that the company still isn’t sure when it will happen. All Microsoft has said is that “Fallout 3 will have Xbox One backwards compatibility access when made available.”

Fallout-4-1 2.07.14 PM

If you pre-order this $60, same price as the regular game, a code for Fallout 3 will be delivered to the Xbox’s message center within 7-10 days after the Fallout 4 release. So, sometime in November. Once you receive the code, you’ll want to redeem it on the Xbox 360 or Xbox.com. Or, you can wait for the game to become backwards compatible.

This offer will not be coming to the PlayStation 4 or PC, it’s exclusive to Microsoft, though it’s not clear how long the offer will last.

In early July, Hines told Polygon that the bundle will not be around forever and that’s why Microsoft says it’s a limited time thing:

“Basically it’s meant to make sure folks know that this is not a ‘forever and ever’ thing,” he said. “So that does mean there is a scenario where you could go into a store to pickup a copy of Fallout 4 post-launch and not get a copy of the game with the code. But I’m not sure how many copies will include it, or for how long. To be determined.”

Plan accordingly.

Fallout 4 Pip Boy Edition

If you’re been following the Fallout 4 release from day one, you probably know that there is a collectors edition bundle called Fallout 4 Pip Boy Edition.

Fallout 4 Pip Boy Edition went on sale shortly after Bethesda’s unveiling and within a few days, it was sold out in the United States and Europe. Bethesda and its retailer partners released some new stock at the end of June but that stock sold out immediately as well.

Unfortunately, that stock will be the Fallout 4 Pip Boy Edition’s last. Bethesda won’t manufacturer anymore so what’s out there is what’s out there. Here’s what you need to know now.

Fallout-4-10 8.11.28 AM

The bundle is difficult to find but not impossible. Some retailers are slowly releasing their remaining stock and there are also other avenues like eBay. Of course, eBay and Craigslist will be more expensive. While Bethesda charged $120, we’re seeing prices skyrocket beyond the $300 mark.

Those who aren’t willing to pay $300 will want to look at Fallout 4 Pip Boy alternatives. We’ve already found a few affordable ones and some of them actually look better than Bethesda’s version.

For more on the Fallout 4 Pip Boy Edition, you’ll want to dig into all the latest details.

Fallout 4 Mighty Bundle

If you can’t or don’t want to buy those two Fallout 4 bundles, there are two other Fallout 4 bundles that you need to know about. The first is the Fallout 4 Mighty Bundle.

The Fallout 4 Mighty Bundle is being sold exclusively at New Zealand retailer Mighty Ape and it nets you a copy of Fallout 4, a Vault Boy figurine and a coffee table book that highlights the history of the Fallout series.

The book is extremely interesting because it’s an “80 page hardcover coffee table style book detailing in words and hi-res imagery the history of Fallout over the years.” A nice memento for fans of the series.

Sadly, this bundle is a Mighty Ape exclusive which means that it probably won’t come to other retailers outside of New Zealand. A shame given the quality of the items inside.

If you’re wanting to go the import route, you can look into it, but it’ll probably cost you. Mighty Ape is charging $99 NZ for the PC version of the Fallout 4 Mighty Bundle and $119 NZ for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions. That’s before shipping fees and potential customs fees.

Fallout 4 Nuke Pack Bundle

The other Fallout 4 specific bundle is the Nuke Pack bundle. Like the Mighty Bundle, the Nuke Pack is an extremely attractive option. And like the Fallout 4 Mighty Bundle, the Fallout 4 Nuke Pack is limited to one retailer in one part of the world.

This new Fallout 4 comes with a copy of Fallout 4 for PS4, Xbox One or PC. It also comes with a steelbook cover for the game, Fallout 4 print, Vaultboy Mini Bobblehead, and a Fallout 4 lunchbox. The lunchbox is extremely unique and it might be a must-have for devoted fans of the series.

This Fallout 4 Nuke Pack bundle is unfortunately limited to EBGames Australia. EBGames is found in countries around the world but none of the other regions are offering this bundle so it’s not clear yet if it will make its way out of Australia.

If you are looking to import, you can try. The Fallout 4 Nuke Pack bundle is $124.95 AUS for the Xbox One and PS4. The PC version of the bundle is $114.95.

Fallout Anthology

And finally, it’s worth taking a look at Bethesda’s Fallout Anthology bundle. It doesn’t come with a copy of Fallout 4 but its unique bomb case does come with a space for a copy of Fallout 4.

The Fallout Anthology bundle comes straight from Bethesda itself. And while it doesn’t come with Fallout 4, it comes with every Fallout game that came before it. So, as you might imagine, the Fallout Anthology is only available for the PC. Games like Fallout 2 never made it to console.

Fallout Anthology

The bundle includes Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition, Fallout New Vegas: Ultimate Edition, Fallout Tactics,Fallout 2 and Fallout. All of that comes in a special mini-nuke storage case that features an audible bomb sound.

Best Buy is listing the Fallout Anthology for $50. So if Amazon. If you shell out $50 now, you’ll get the Fallout Anthology on September 29th, or, a few weeks ahead of the Fallout 4 release date.

Xbox One Fallout 4 Deals

Xbox One Fallout 4 Deals

In the buildup to the Fallout 4 release date in November, we've seen several Fallout 4 deals emerge. We haven't seen any massive price cuts (and we probably won't until after the game's release) but we've still seen some solid Xbox One Fallout 4 deals emerge including a new one from Best Buy.

Best Buy is still offering the usual 20% discount to those who are a part of its Gamers Club Unlocked program. That knocks the price down to $48 for those that aren't good at math. The company is offering another Fallout 4 deal though.

Best Buy is now offering $10 in rewards to My Best Buy members who pre-order Fallout 4 for Xbox One. It's not a price cut but it's a solid deal for those who do a lot of shopping at Best Buy.

Of course, Best Buy isn't the only one offering a deal on Fallout 4. Amazon is offering $7 off to Amazon Prime members. That drops the price down to $57 including tax. It's not a huge deal but it's a deal nonetheless.

Microsoft is also offering a Fallout 4 deal that will net you a $10 Xbox gift card digital code within 10 days of the game's release. This will be perfect if you're planning to buy a ton of new Xbox One titles during the holiday season.

That lunchbox isn’t unique; it came with fallout 3 as well.. Exactly the same. And the vault bobble head can be purchase seperately from the bethesda store.

Man, the recommendation for the Mighty Ape bundle should have come with a disclaimer. Pre-ordered in August and here I am 13 days after launch twiddling my thumbs. Worst retail shopping experience ever.
