You Don't Need to Install the Update Right Away

Android Pie is exciting and many of you will want to install it the second appears for your phone. That said, many others are better off waiting.

For some of you, particularly those of you using the Android Pie beta or dealing with Android Oreo issues, installing right away is the right move.

That said, some of you will be better off waiting a few hours or a few days before jumping up to Android Pie and the One UI.

There are plenty of reasons to avoid installing new Android software on day one. New software is often plagued with bugs so sometimes it's smart to sit back and wait for the first batch of bug fixes to arrive.

Make sure you dig into early feedback about Android Pie's performance from your fellow Galaxy Note 8 users. This feedback will alert you to the early problems with the software.

Telling a novice with phone software that they could downgrade from pie, and how to do it, is a terrible idea. The whole reason for monthly security updates is to keep you safe. If you’re not on the latest update (ie: Pie) then you will be vulnerable to many security problems.
