Galaxy S7 Oreo Release Date is Getting Closer

Samsung hasn't confirmed a date, but it looks like Galaxy S7 users won't have to wait too much longer for the start of the Android Oreo roll out. That's extremely exciting.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 Oreo update is making progress behind the scenes and Samsung's regional arm in Turkey has confirmed the Oreo update for April. More specifically, it says it'll start rolling out on May 18th. It's unclear if that's the date for Turkish users or if that's the global roll out date.

Samsung Canada, in a message on the Samsung Members app, claims the update will start rolling out in the spring or summer. Spring in North America starts on March 20th. Canadian carrier Fido says it'll roll the update out in May.

Galaxy S7 models in the United States have also been certified via the Wi-Fi Alliance with the Android Oreo update on board.

The timing is subject to change, but it means the first batch of Android 8.0 Oreo updates could be just days away.

If you own a Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge in North America, Europe, and Asia, be on the lookout for your update in later April and May.
