The Galaxy S8 Android Oreo update delivers some exciting upgrades for DeX, but there's also one potential disappointment you should be aware of. 

According to Samsung Galaxy S8 beta users, the company's Android 8.0 Oreo update blocks the use of third-party docks with Samsung DeX. 

Galaxy S8 beta users connecting devices to these docks no longer get the full Samsung DeX UI experience. Instead, all they see is a mirror of their smartphone display. 

It'll be interesting to see if this change carries over to the final version of Android 8.0 Oreo. If it does, those of you who still want the full DeX experience need to stay put on Android 7.0, find a workaround, or upgrade to an expensive first-party DeX dock.
