Android 8.0 Problems Remain

The Galaxy S8 Android Oreo beta is treating many device owners well, but there are still lots of problems with Samsung's version of Android 8.0 and some of these problems could slip through the cracks into the final release.

Samsung and its army of beta testers have tested the software for several weeks now. And during that time, they've squashed a ton of annoying bugs and performance problems. Each beta update arrived with a long list of bug fixes.

The software is in a much better place than it was in November, but that doesn't mean it's going to be perfect. It won't be.

Galaxy S8 Android Oreo beta testers are still complaining about severe battery drain, connectivity issues, and problems with first and third party applications. We expect these problems, and many others, to emerge inside the official update.

The Android Oreo update won't be perfect, software rarely is, so you'll need to be on your toes if and when you decide to install the software on your phone. It has the potential to wreck havoc on your phone's performance.
