There is a NHL 17 day one patch that is coming to you as soon as you install the game. This is a pretty large update that fixes a little bit of everything. 

EA outlines the changes on a forum post, including over a dozen fixes for goalies, defense and offense. 

This includes a lot of small tuning and AI changes. One example is that auto-assist passing will not lead the player if it means the other player will be offside.

There are also a number of changes to the NHL 17 presentation including crowd reactions and artwork updates. EA also changes audio commentary and other audio upgrades.

In this NHL 17 update EA also delivers a plethora of changes to EASHL, Be a Pro, Franchise Mode and other game modes to deliver a more tuned gaming experience.
