The watchOS 6.2.8 update brings digital car key support to the Apple Watch Series 5. This is only available on the newest Apple Watch and it works with specific BMW models to start. 

If you own a BMW model 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, X5, X6, X7, X5M, X6M or Z4 that was manufactured after July 1st, 2020, you can install iOS 13.6 and this watchOS update and then you can use your phone or your watch to unlock and drive your car. 

We'll have more on this as we go hands-on, but if you own one of these vehicles and you have the Series 5, it is a good reason to install the update.
