If you aren't married to Android, you might think about waiting a few weeks for Apple's spring launch window to arrive. 

Apple typically uses the month of March to debut new hardware. The iPhone SE, the company's 4-inch iPhone, made its debut at a March launch event in 2016. 

The company didn't hold a media event last year, but it did confirm several new products in late March including a red iPhone 7. 

Apple hasn't confirmed a March event yet, but there's a chance it releases new hardware soon after the Galaxy S9 goes on sale.

The company's rumored to have an iPhone SE 2 up its sleeve, but there's no guarantee it arrives in the spring launch window. 

iPhone SE 2 or not, it might be a good idea to hang back and see what Apple may or may not have up its sleeve. You won't have to wait long. 

If it winds up being a dud, the Galaxy S9 will be there waiting.
