Google's Android 8.1 update isn't as big or exciting as Android 8.0, but does come with a nice list of features and enhancements. Some of these changes are noticeable right off the bat, others are a little bit harder to notice. Here are a few highlights from the Android 8.1 change log. The Android 8.1 update includes a colored nav bar in Settings that dims, a new power menu design, a new Android Oreo icon in System Notifications, and automatic dark and light themes. It also includes smart text selection, a new Android Oreo easter egg, and Bluetooth battery level for connected devices which is accessible via Quick Settings. Android 8.1 also comes with Neural Networks API, improved targeting for low-RAM devices, programmatic Safe Browsing actions, and fingerprint updates. If any of these features sound good to you, consider downloading Android 8.1 onto your Nexus 5X in the near future. | |||||||||
