3 Reasons to Buy Fallout 76 & 7 Reasons to Wait

Wait If You're Concerned About Steam

It looks like Bethesda's keeping Fallout 76 off of the popular Steam platform. If that concerns you at all, think about holding off.

In the Bethesda's notes about the Fallout 76 beta, Bethesda noted that you'd be able to buy  the game on the Xbox One, PS4, and the PC via Bethesda.net.

The release date has arrived and the game isn't available on Steam which means the only way to play the game on a Windows PC right now is via the Bethesda.net launcher.

The company hasn't said why, but the going theory is that Bethesda doesn't want to give Valve a 30% percent cut.

There's a chance Fallout 76 emerges on Steam after launch, maybe even in 2019, but there's also a chance it skips it.

If you're a heavy Steam user and/or the thought of playing this game via the (often buggy) Bethesda.net launcher makes you feel uneasy, think about holding off until the game appears on Steam.
