If you're about to leave on a trip or you're in the midst of traveling, you should avoid beta. 

Again, the Galaxy S8 Android Pie beta is plagued by bugs and performance problems. There's also a chance the beta bricks your device or wipes the data on your phone. 

If you move your device from Android Oreo to Android Pie beta you could also wind up with a busted app or service and that's obviously not ideal for traveling especially if you're in a place you've never been to before. It's important to have a functioning phone.
