Don't Install If You're Unprepared

The Android Pie has the potential to cause headaches and that's precisely why you'll want to prepare yourself, and your device, for the move.

We've put together a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process we use before we install new Android software on our devices.

If you use your device for work, we highly recommend checking in with your IT department (if you have one) before you install the update because it could have an impact on the apps and services you rely on to do your job.

You'll also want to install app updates, charge up your device, and get familiar with all of the smaller changes on board the Pie upgrade. This way you aren't caught off guard.

If you don't have a lot of time to commit to the pre-installation process be sure all of your data is backed up. Data loss issues are rare these days but there's always a chance something goes wrong during the installation.
