If you're concerned about getting your money's worth, it might be a good idea to wait for the game's first free expansion to get a feel for EA and DICE's approach to Battlefront 2 DLC.
Instead of a $50-60 Season Pass, EA DICE's decided to release additional Battlefront 2 content free-of-charge. The developer's goal is to keep the game updated with fresh content while avoiding the fragmentation that plagued the last Battlefront game. The first Battlefront 2 "Season" is called The Last Jedi and it's scheduled to arrive in December, December 5th to be exact. EA's outlined a bunch of important details including some of the locations and vehicles coming with the download. Everything looks great on paper, but it will be interesting to see the content in action and if the changes to the progressions system and microtransactions were worth it.
We also don't know much about future expansions and how they'll keep the game interesting and fresh over the next year or so. If you're curious to see how EA's efforts play out, consider waiting for The Last Jedi to come out before you buy Battlefront 2.
