If you want 5G support on board your next tablet, you'll probably have to wait until 2020 or later. 

U.S. carriers have launched their 5G networks and we've seen the first batch of 5G markets go live with more on the way later this year. 

Companies like Samsung have launched 5G-enabled devices, but Apple won't join them this year. 

Apple's 2019 iPhones won't come with 5G. Instead, it looks like the company will wait until 2020 to bring 5G support to its customers. 

Rumors have hinted at 5G support on board Apple's new iPad Pros, but those probably won't arrive until next year. 

With the 10.2-inch iPad rumored for 2019, there's virtually no chance it supports 5G networks. If that's a deal-breaker for you, you'll have to hold out until next year.
