The August Android 7.1.2 build will be one of the last Nougat updates for the Nexus 5X. There's a chance it's the last Nougat update. 

Google recently released the final Android O Developer Preview which means the final product is right around the corner. 

The final Android O update is expected to land for the Nexus 5X before the end of the third quarter which means it'll probably arrive in August or September. 

Google says it can't guarantee Android version updates for the Nexus 5X after September 2017 which means Android O will probably be its last major update. That doesn't mean software support will end. 

The Nexus 5X will continue to get updates deep into the next year. The company recently confirmed plans to roll out security patches to the Nexus 5X through September 2018.
