Dark Mode (Themes)

We don't think Google will ever fully introduce themes into stock Android, but they are giving users more choices. Plus, Android Q will have a system-wide dark mode, which is almost like a theme.

For now, with Android 9.0 Pie Google finally added a dedicated setting and switch for a light or dark theme on some phones. This way the app tray, settings menu, notification pulldown bar and more will all have a light or dark color mode. You can set it each way, or let the software choose based on your wallpaper image. 

This light or dark mode only works in some areas, and we won't get a full 100% dark mode until August of 2019 with the release of Android Q.
