The Assassin’s Creed Origins Hidden Ones DLC arrives soon, and if you like the open-world game from Ubisoft, the time to prepare is now.
The Hidden Ones is the latest piece of add-on content to come to Assassin’s Creed Origins since it launched back in October. Assassin’s Creed Origins takes players to Egypt. In the game, they become Bayek, an early member of the Assassin Order. This new expansion increases the game’s maximum character level and adds new activities in an all-new area. It’s the first of two major expansions that Ubisoft has planned for Assassin’s Creed Origins in early 2018.
The Assassin’s Creed Origins Hidden Ones DLC release date arrives this January. Here’s everything else you need to know about the upcoming expansion.
Assassin’s Creed Origins Hidden Ones DLC Features
The Assassin’s Creed Origins Hidden Ones DLC gives you more room to grow your character and more activities to complete.
The first thing it does is raise the game’s level cap. After the update, you can level up to 45. That’s five levels higher than the game’s previous cap. It may sound like a small change, but the higher your character’s level cap, the more deadly they are.
To help you reach that new level cap, the Assassin’s Creed Origins Hidden Ones DLC adds a new region to explore. Called Sinai, it’s stuffed with new in-game missions to complete once you’ve finished the game’s story. All the new missions and content included in The Hidden Ones is for gamers that have finished the main story. That’s why Ubisoft recommends that only players who have reached level 40 or above explore Sinai.
Finally, the Assassin’s Creed Origins Hidden Ones DLC adds new items. New armor, weapons, mounts and an outfit are scattered across Sinai. Four of these new weapons are powerful legendary weapons that make Bayek very dangerous. Two new crafting levels let you improve his existing gear.
Assassin’s Creed Origins Hidden Ones DLC Release Date
The Assassin’s Creed Origins Hidden Ones release date is January 23rd. On that day, anyone that owns a copy of the game can install the upgrade on their Xbox One, PS4 or Windows PC.
Ubisoft didn’t reveal any plans to offer early downloads for The Hidden Ones DLC before release, unfortunately. With big expansions and new game launches, some developers tend to let gamers install the files they need early so that they can begin playing at midnight on release day.
Assassin’s Creed Origins Hidden Ones DLC Price
The Assassin’s Creed Origins Hidden Ones DLC price you pay depends on how you purchased the game.
You get the add-on for free if you purchased an edition that includes the game’s season pass. That includes Assassin’s Creed Origins Steelbook Gold Edition and Gold Edition. Even if you purchased a standard copy of the game, it’s not too late to buy the season pass and get every piece of content coming to the game for one price. This season pass costs $39.99 at GameStop. It’s also available through the Microsoft Store and PlayStation Store.
If you don’t want to buy every piece of Assassin’s Creed Origins DLC with the season pass, you can buy The Hidden Ones DLC separately. It will cost $9.99 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Just know that Ubisoft plans to keep expanding the game. In the long run, buying the season pass now might save you money.
The Assassin’s Creed Origins Hidden Ones DLC release won’t be the last time the game gets updated in early 2018. The second major expansion to Origins, The Curse of the Pharaohs, launches this March. It will bump the maximum character level up again and add new story content. A living museum mode that removes all combat from the game and offers guided tours of Egypt arrives for free this February. You can also expect new Trials of the Gods missions to return now that the holiday season has passed.
Sea of Thieves – March 20th
If you’ve ever thought a pirate’s life seemed exciting, Sea of Thieves is a must-buy in 2018.
Developed by Rare, Sea of Thieves is an online role-playing game. You create your own pirate and act as captain or crew of a pirate ship. You’re free to explore islands and uncover lost treasures when you aren’t firing on or under fire from enemy ships. If you and your crew prefer structure, Sea of Thieves offers that too. Completing quests helps you improve your pirate and ship.
Sea of Thieves launches on Xbox One on March 20th. Because it’s an Xbox Play Anywhere game, buying a digital copy unlocks a copy on Xbox for Windows.
