Call of Duty: Black Ops Pass: 5 Reasons to Buy Now & 4 Reasons to Wait

Should you buy the Black Ops Pass? This is what you need to know about buying the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Season Pass that is now simply known as Black Ops Pass, and why you may need to change how you approach this decision.

If you opt for the higher end Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 editions, you get the Black Ops Pass, but this is most often sold digitally, which isn’t how everyone wants to buy the game.

With the new Blackout Battle Royale mode there will be events that you can take part in without the Black Ops Pass, but you won’t get everything. When it comes to Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 DLC and maps, the Black Ops Pass is what you will want to invest in.

You can either buy the Call of Duty: Black Ops Pass with the game, or you can add it on later for $49.99.

When you buy the Call of Duty: Black Ops Pass you are basically buying a second game, so you will want to research this purchase more than many other DLC options.

You cannot buy individual DLC passes, so there is no option to pick and choose which pack you want to buy. The first installment is Operation Absolute Zero, which lands on PS4 on December 11th and Xbox One and PC a week later.

While you are getting fewer maps overall, there is a promise of more content with Blackout events, skins and other options that you can unlock with the Call of Duty: Black Ops Pass.

We know that there will be over 175 Blackout events and with the Black Ops Pass you will get to skip 10 levels in each season. This is part of a Supply Stream system that will get you new gear as you progress. With the Black Ops Pass, you skip 10 tiers per season. This information appeared online in an Activision post, but then disappeared.

Our guide will walk you through the reasons you should buy the Black Ops Pass, and the reasons you should wait or skip it.
