A long wait isn't the only concern. If Samsung chooses to roll out an update, the Galaxy S7 would probably miss out on some of the company's features thanks to hardware limitations. The Galaxy S7 might get the One UI but there's no guarantee it would get some of the Galaxy S9/Note 9 features the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8 are getting with Android Pie. Samsung's also launched its Galaxy 10. The Galaxy S10 comes with additional tweaks to Android Pie and Samsung's One UI. We'd expect the Galaxy S7 to miss out on some of those upgrades if it gets Android Pie down the road. Third-party developers could bring some of these features to the Galaxy S7 in ROMs, but getting them on board will require time, effort, and a skill-set some Galaxy S7 users don't have. | |||||||||
