Details surrounding the Galaxy S8 are everywhere, and more continue to appear. Now that we have actual photos, video and specs, rumors are being put to rest while others have been confirmed. Before we begin talking about specs, here are some noteworthy features many users should be excited about. The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus will come with a 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch display. Yes, that sounds huge. However, Samsung will employ a bezel-free design, with the front being almost entirely glass and screen. Keeping the same physical size as the Galaxy S7, but offering huge curved displays with nearly no bezel. It sounds incredible. Our phones won’t be bigger, but the screen will be. The result will be a truly exceptional experience unmatched by any device. The screen to body ratio will be very high. So much that it makes the iPhone look old and outdated in the photos above. The phones aren't as wide, and a little taller. Giving us tons of screen without making them hard to hold. SamMobile said the fingerprint scanner would be imbedded into the glass on the front. Sadly that was false Instead, it will be on the back next to the camera, not underneath it. A placement that many will have to slowly get used to. We could see the built-in scanner debut with the Galaxy Note 8 in August or September. SamMobile reports another Galaxy S8 feature will be like Windows Continuum. Which is basically turning a smartphone into a full computer when hooked up to a monitor. Claiming Samsung's Galaxy S8 with Android 7.0 Freeform mode will have a full "Desktop experience" once plugged into a monitor. This will be called "DeX" for desktop expansion. Of course we can still expect a fingerprint scanner, Iris Eye scanner, micro-SD slot, Samsung Pay, wireless charging, IP68 dust and water resistance and doubled to 64GB of storage. Samsung's also using a new AI assistant called Bixby. Rumors claim it will be better than Siri, better than Alexa, and better than the Google Assistant. This will finally launch with the Galaxy S8, and the phone has a dedicated button for it, too. The phone will also come with new Harmon Kardon tuned headphones in the box, and all-day battery life. | |||||||||||
