Here’s What the Galaxy Note 8 Looks Like

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 release date is quickly approaching, and now we have a good idea of what to expect thanks to a slew of leaked photos. Here’s what the Galaxy Note 8 looks like, its features, and what to expect when it arrives later this month.

The phone recently cleared some hurdles before the launch, which is August 23rd in New York City. We’ve seen countless photos and read lots of rumors, but this is our best look yet. Famed and highly accurate leaster @evleaks is sharing images of the Galaxy Note 8 from every angle.

Samsung’s Galaxy S8 told us a lot about the Galaxy Note 8, but we’ve yet to see a final image of the new phone, until today. This is likely the first official photo of Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Note 8.

In these images, we get a really good look of the Galaxy Note 8. There’s a clear departure from the recalled Galaxy Note 7, and the overall design is similar to the Galaxy S8 earlier this year. Until we get actual images of the physical phone, these photos will suffice.

Thanks to Evan Blass we can see the new dual camera configuration on the back. One will take great photos like past Samsung phones, while the second lens delivers a 3x optical zoom for enhanced photography and portraits.

You’ll notice the design is bigger than Samsung’s current devices. Leaks suggest the Galaxy Note 8 will deliver a 6.3-inch Quad-HD AMOLED display that’s curved on the sides with very small bezels. Samsung calls this an Infinity Display. And while it’s a big screen, it’s only a hair bigger than the Galaxy S8+.

These images confirm the return of the poorly placed rear fingerprint scanner, as Samsung wasn’t able to embed it into the screen like earlier reports. One thing worth mentioning is the fingerprint scanner and camera are now separated by the LED flash and heart rate sensor. Making it easier to press without accidentally getting fingerprints on the camera lens. An issue most had with the Galaxy S8 from earlier this year.

We also see the S-Pen stylus, which we’re hearing could have a new haptic feedback motor built-in. This means the S-Pen can vibrate, and Samsung may bundle a “Find My S-Pen” app with the device.

That aside, these images don’t tell us anything new. We see the big new screen, dual cameras, S-Pen, dedicated Bixby AI button on the left side, and a new Gold color option. Right now we’re hearing Samsung could offer its new phone in Midnight Black, Gold, Arctic Silver and a new Blue color variant.

Based on everything we’ve seen so far the Galaxy Note 8 is shaping up quite nicely. Now, all we need is the release date and price. Samsung will unveil its new phone on August 23rd, and we’re hearing pre-order could begin on August 25th. Rumors suggest the actual release date is around September 6-9th, but we’ll have to wait and see.

Wait If You Want the Best Display

If you want the biggest and best smartphone display on the market, Samsung's Galaxy Note 8 will be the phone to buy. In fact, we're hearing it will have a huge 6.3-inch Infinity Display that looks great. Earlier this year the company debuted the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. Both of those phones have bigger screens than any prior year, and tiny bezels or black bars around the screen.  The Galaxy S8 release tells us a lot about the upcoming Galaxy Note 8. Samsung will likely offer a similar screen where there are no physical button or a fingerprint scanner. It's all screen on the front. The sides will curve off the phone, and the black bars of bezel at the top and bottom are very minimal. Which gives it an edge-to-edge look Samsung calls an Infinity Display.  Samsung went from 5.5-inches in the Galaxy S7 Edge to 6.2-inches with the Galaxy S8+. The company offered the same big jump from the Galaxy S7 to the Galaxy S8, and we anticipate the same for the Galaxy Note 8.  If you want a big 6.3-inch 2560 x 1440 Quad-HD Infinity Display with tons of space for apps, games or business, the Galaxy Note 8 will be worth waiting for. Recent leaks suggest the bezels could be smaller than what we see with the Galaxy S8 too, making it feel like the entire phone is all screen on the front.
